Chris Teal Wed 25th Sep 2024Doncaster based Artist for over 20 years, Chris Teal has developed her artistic career from purely commission-based work and selling at craft fairs to teaching all ages and abilities, group demonstrations, and RSPB watercolour workshops, through to solo Exhibitions in her fully equipped Fenwick studio. Also featuring several of her works at the D31 Art Gallery in Doncaster and achieving an award for her contribution with her large-scale acrylic portrait of a Masai woman titled ‘Nolyaplya’. Chris’s passion for art comes from the natural environment in all forms, from dilapidated barns to giraffes, her chosen media is acrylic on canvas or watercolour. Her garden also often inspires many of her works. However, she recently has been experimenting with mixed media collage along with pastels and decaying leaves. She will also be hosting a free Watercolour Wellness workshop during Artwalk.

The John Goodchild Collection Wed 29th May 2024This Artwalk, come and see our new exhibition showcasing the John Goodchild Collection. This collection came into the care of the West Yorkshire Archive Service in 2017. It is believed to be one of the largest private collections relating to Yorkshire collected by a single individual. John’s passion for preserving our heritage has left us with an unrivalled and rich resource for anyone interested in the history of Yorkshire. For the first time, West Yorkshire Archive Service will be showcasing some of the treasures and curiosities from this important local collection. Take a look at our cabinet of curiosities, browse the books in John’s Corner or try your hand at writing with a feather quill.
