The Beauty Of Profanity
Daz Trei
The Beauty of Profanity is an exploration of ideas expressed via the medium of scrap paper and pen. Visitors to the pub are invited to doodle or write anonymously on anything they can find (scrap paper is provided) and I encourage the pen barer to be exquisitely unpolite if they wish. The celebrative works will be displayed for all to see on the night of the Artwalk, like Aunt Mavis's drawers on the washing line of profanity. Doodles and writings can be posted in a special profanity post box. This is located bottom right of the main Artwalk wall in the Polka Hop from Monday 21st October to Monday 25th November.
Free hot beverages available on Artwalk night with cakes, biscuits and all the usual pub fare and ales available until 11pm.
Open 12pm-11pm
Three Sets of Four Abstracts
HJP
In my exploration of abstract art, I aspire to create pieces that resonate with the viewer, evoking emotions that transcend the boundaries of language. Like a symphony, where color, line, and shape harmonize to convey a spectrum of feelings, inviting each observer to engage with their own memories and sensations, to connect on a level that can be both uplifting and introspective.
Mark making is an integral part of my process, as I embrace the freedom of form and the spontaneity it brings. I find beauty in the imperfections and the unexpected, allowing the work to evolve organically.
This freedom invites varied interpretations, enabling viewers to find their own meanings and connections within the chaos and calm of abstraction.
Open 5pm-9pm
Stirling's Odds & Sods
Stirling Ford
We have to remind Stirling that, although very humble, he is actually an artist. While he was excited to bring his vintage clothing to our snug, we had to insist that he also brought his fine art drawings. These will be on display, quite rightly, in our main stage area. Stirling is an underrated talent, and you'll see what we mean when you see his work.
Main stage & Snug
Open 7pm-11pm
Hearts Alive Showcase
Hearts Alive Tattoo studios
Original paintings & illustrations by 5 resident artists from the Hearts Alive Tattoo studio.
"By definition, a tattooist should be an artist but this is too often untrue. However, the team from Hearts Alive completely embolden what a tattooist should be. They're artists first and foremost, and this work on display demonstrates this" Daz, Polka Hop Landlord
The exhibition will be on display from Artwalk until mid December.
