Linda Bulleyment Wed 25th Sep 2024Making animals sparks joy, I love how expressive clay can be in creating these sculptures. As each animal grows, they reveal their own developing personalities. Exploring the nuances of expression, texture and form adds to the piece’s individuality. I make a range of animals capturing the essence of each creature either through sculpture, or as part of a jar. Painted animals may form part of the decoration of flatware where the surface becomes the canvas. Glazes are often layered to cause interaction on the surface or allowed to pool in the details of the form.
